2010 Bowl for Kids' Sake

2007 BFKS Pics

When: March 13, 2010
Where: Venture Lanes in St. Albans, WV

What: An annual event which raises funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Teams of five (5) raise money to support BBBS and then come together for a fun day of activities, which include three games of bowling. Prizes are awarded throughout the day to teams who raise the most money and randomly through door prize drawings and games. More than 80% of participants at last year’s event left with a door prize and everyone receives a commemorative t-shirt.  Entertainment: DJ Bill Recco will provide the background music for the day and run several fun crowd involvement games.

Team Captains: The bowling event is organized around team captains who pull together a team consisting of themselves and 3 – 4 additional volunteers willing to raise money for BBBS. Although the team does get to bowl the day of the event, a captain doesn’t have to look for good bowlers to be on their team. There will be all levels of bowlers participate in the event and the most important item is that everyone come out in a good mind set and have a lot of fun. Both adults and youth can serve as team captains and members. Nearly 49 teams participated in last year’s event.

Prizes: All participants who raise at least $75 (or are members of a team that raises $375) will have their names put on a list to win any number of random door prizes. Also, the captain of the team that raises the most money will be awarded a prize with second and third place captains also winning nice prizes, including a week stay at a beach house in Isle of Palm, SC and a weekend at Snowshoe.

Profits: All profits go to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the South Central WV. The funding goes to provide activities for the youth in our program (such as baseball outings, picnics, hay-rides, skating parties, and educational trips), as well as providing support for our adult volunteers. Approximately 20 percent of agency funding is dependent upon the success of this activity.

Sponsorship: Sponsorship is available at different levels starting with the Ten Pin Level at $500, then the Strike Level at $1,000, Gold Pin at $2,000 and 300 Game at $4,000.
